Dry Brush Technique

For this cedar chest I wanted a rustic layered look.  I decided to go with layers of dry brushing because I thought it would highlight the details best.

Here is a list of the products I used along with links to where you can purchase them:

2” chip brushes
Paper towel
General Finishes Lamp Black Milk Paint
GF Snow White Milk Paint
GF Chapin Gray Chalk Like Paint - discontinued
GF Antique White Milk Paint
GF Flat Out Flat Top Coat

You can use this technique with any color combinations you prefer.

I love how much paint can transform a piece of furniture and this technique adds so much depth and texture.  It's a favorite of mine.
